Day Trippin

So the camping weekend went great (we avoided the bear attack on Friday night, probably more through luck and pure drunkeness than being prepared) - it was nice to hang out in the wilderness for a couple of days, with no cell phone or internet access. I'd definitely recommend it, especially since sometimes it feels like we're connected 24/7 for weeks on end. In fact, it was so good, we're planning it all again for Labo(u)r Day weekend. Let me or Heidi know if you're interested (and we actually know you of course - you didn't just randomly stumble across this blog....)

So yesterday was a little on the hectic side - Heidi was 29 (and still looks about 21), and I got called out of town at the last minute (well, arranged on Thursday night, so pretty last minute). A day trip to San Diego was required, to spend some time with one of our big customers while they were out at a conference. It was a good meeting, but a long day - up and out of the house by 7am, and not back until 9.30pm (including catching an earlier flight than originally planned). Heidi was a star and didn't give me grief about leaving her on her birthday. Still felt pretty bad about it all, but hopefully will make it up to her with an extended period at home now (well, extended compared to recently - get 3 weeks of no travel if I play my cards right)
