So Microsoft has a new way to give charity - by adding in a header in your display name (one of a number of special codes that correspond to different charities), they'll donate some money every time you chat on IM. I've no idea how, how much, or even if lots of individual messages all count as seperate donations, but I can't see any downsides to this at all, especially at the rate I IM people these days.
